Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities: Notice

CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN THE ARTS, SOCIAL SCIENCES, AND HUMANITIES (CRASSH) INFORMATION DAY WITH THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES RESEARCH BOARD (AHRB)

CRASSH is pleased to announce the visit on Friday, 7 February, of Professor Geoff Crossick, Chief Executive of the AHRB. All senior members of the University, especially in the arts, social sciences, and humanities are invited to attend this information day. It is anticipated that the long-awaited Government Funding Review of Higher Education will have been announced just before this visit, and Geoff Crossick will be able to share the AHRB's response to the new opportunities. The AHRB has also recently undertaken major reviews of its role in the training of postgraduates in the Arts and Humanities and its support for Ph.D. Degree students and Geoff Crossick will address those issues.

The event will begin with coffee at 11 a.m. in the McCrum Theatre in Bene't Street and will end at 3.45 p.m. A full programme is available on the CRASSH website at www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/events/eventsforthcoming.html. Those wishing to attend should register with Toshimi Boulding (tel. 01223 766886, e-mail administrator@crassh.cam.ac.uk), giving their name, e-mail address, and Faculty or Departmental affiliation.
