The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Bonn offers around 600 Fellowships annually to postdoctoral researchers under the age of 40 who wish to pursue their research in Germany. Information on these and other awards as well as application forms for the Fellowships may be down-loaded from http://www.humboldt-foundation.de. The awards are initially for six to twelve months. The Fellowship stipend is presently in the range of £1,400 to £2,000 a month (tax-free). Travel and language courses may also be subsidized. Applications may be submitted at any time. Please allow five to six months for a decision to be made. The selection committee usually sits three times a year (in March, July, and November).
