The General Board give notice that, at the request of the Management Committee for the Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK Institute of Cancer and Developmental Biology, they have agreed to rename the Institute, with effect from 1 January 2004, as the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute in recognition of the Institute's inaugural Director, Professor Sir John Gurdon. This change has the agreement of the Wellcome Trust and Cancer Research UK. The regulations for the Institute (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 620) have been amended accordingly.
