SPEAKER'S LECTURERSHIP IN BIBLICAL STUDIES

The Electors propose to appoint a Lecturer to hold office for one year from 1 October 2003.

The Lecturer will be required to deliver not less than six lectures in the year of his/her Lecturership. The lectures will deal with such subject or subjects in connection with biblical study as shall be approved or prescribed by the Electors, and will be delivered at such times and place as the Board of the Faculty of Theology may determine.

The Lecturer will be entitled to receive the net income accruing from the endowment fund during his/her tenure of the Lecturership, to be divided as appropriate between stipend and expenses. The income in 2003-04 is expected to be about £2,700.

Candidates for the Lecturership should send their names, a curriculum vitae, and a statement of the subject of the lectures which they propose to deliver, together with any further explanation which they may think fit to offer, in eight copies, to Mrs E. A. Macallister, Humanities Divisional Office, 34 St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LH, to arrive not later than 24 January 2003. The choice of the electors will not necessarily be limited to those who apply.
