St Anne's College

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP IN ETHICS

The College proposes to award a Graduate Scholarship in Ethics to a graduate student with a serious interest in Ethics, accepted by the College to read for a B.Phil. or as a Probationary Research Student in Philosophy in October 2003.

The Scholarship will pay fees and maintenance at the level of an AHRB Studentship, plus £600, for one year in the first instance (it may be renewed for a second year if both (a) an application for AHRB funding is made for that second year if AHRB funding has not already been secured for that year, and (b) progress on research is satisfactory). It is hoped that some holders of the Scholarship will become involved in paid teaching of the College's undergraduates.

Candidates must be citizens of the UK, and must have applied to Oxford University in the usual way, putting St Anne's as first College of preference. To be considered, an application for AHRB funding must be made, and a copy sent to the College Secretary at St Anne's College, Oxford, OX2 6HS, by 28 March 2003. No other application to the College is required. The winner of the award will be contacted by 1 April 2003. Were the winner to be successful in the AHRB competition, the AHRB award would replace the payment of fees and maintenance by the St Anne's Scholarship, but the Scholarship's £600 increment would be paid in addition to the AHRB's award.
