Opera Society

Cambridge University Opera Society presents UK premiere performances (in concert) of two historic operatic works from 1920s Germany and Russia.

Ernst Krenek (1900-91)
Heavyweight or 'The Glory of the Nation' (1927)
Burlesque Opera in 1 Act

Alexander Mosolov (1900-73)
The Hero (1926)
Opera in 1 Act
Conducted by Alex Soddy

The concert will take place at 8 p.m., on Saturday, 7 December, in the West Road Concert Hall. Admission will be £10 (£5 concessions). Tickets will be available at the door, or in advance by telephoning 01223 477099.

In association with the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH), the Faculty of Music, and Moscow/Berlin: Patterns and Politics of Cultural Exchange 1920-33 (a music conference hosted by the Faculty of Music).
