Appointments, grant of title, and reappointments

The following appointments, grant of title, and reappointments have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturer

Physics. Dr David Felix Buscher, M.A., Ph.D., PEM, appointed from 1 October 2002 for three years.

Assistant Director of Research

Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Dr Jonathan Mark Evans, M.A., Ph.D., CAI, appointed from 1 October 2002 for five years.

Assistant Treasurer

Finance Division. Ms Karen Sheldon appointed from 1 October 2002 for three years.

Administrative Officer

Estate Management and Building Service. Mr Philip Hopper B.A., Sunderland, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 November 2002 for three years.

Grant of Title

Affiliated Lecturer

Engineering. Dr Daping Chu, B.Sc., M.Sc., Nanjing, China, Ph.D., Warwick, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2002 for a further two years.

Reappointments

University Lecturers

Chemistry. Dr Ali Alavi, T, reappointed from 1 June 2003 until the retiring age. Dr Stuart Matthew Clarke reappointed from 1 July 2003 until the retiring age. Dr Sophie Elizabeth Jackson, PET, and Dr Jonathan Brian Spencer, JN, reappointed from 1 October 2003 until the retiring age.

Physics. Dr Nigel Robert Cooper, PEM, Dr Michael Paul Hobson, TH, Dr Henning Sirringhaus, CHU, and Dr Mark Andrew Thomson, EM, reappointed from 1 October 2003 until the retiring age.

University Assistant Lecturer

Engineering. Dr Vikram Sudhir Deshpande, PEM, reappointed from 1 April 2003 for two years.

Computer Officers

Astronomy. Dr Andrew David Batey reappointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 September 2003 until the retiring age.

Chemical Engineering. Miss Vanessa Suzanne Blake reappointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 January 2003 until the retiring age.
