Philosophical Society

A one-day meeting on Ionic channels and human disease will be held in the Pippard Lecture Theatre, Cavendish Laboratory, on Wednesday, 11 December 2002, starting at 9.15 a.m. This will be an interdisciplinary meeting open to all members of the University. Admission will be by ticket only. Applications for tickets and a full programme should be directed to the Executive Secretary, Cambridge Philosophical Society, Bene't Street, Cambridge, CB2 3PY (tel. 01223 334743, e-mail camphilossoc@ula.cam.ac.uk).

At a meeting held on 18 November 2002 in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site, Professor T. M. Cox, President, was in the Chair. Dr D. Arnone, of TeraView Ltd, presented a lecture entitled Terahertz waves and potential applications in biomedical imaging. A vote of thanks was moved by Professor M. Pepper.
