University Lecturer/University Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture

The Department seeks to appoint from 1 August 2003, or as soon as possible, an individual with a proven track record in research to contribute to its teaching, administration, and research in one of the following fields: environmental design; urban design and transport planning; history and theory in architecture.

Appointment at University Lecturer level will be on the current scale of £22,522 to £34,734 a year and will be for an initial period of three years, with reappointment thereafter subject to satisfactory performance.

Appointment at University Assistant Lecturer level will be on the current scale of £20,470 to £24,435 a year and will be for three years, with the possibility of reappointment for a further two years subject to satisfactory performance. The statutory limit of tenure for a University Assistant Lectureship is five years, but all holders of the office of University Assistant Lecturer are considered for possible appointment to the office of University Lecturer during the course of their tenure.

Administrative appointment in the Academic Division

Applications are invited for a full-time unestablished post at Assistant Registrary level. The appointment will be for three years.

The post-holder's primary responsibility will be the development and co-ordination of the Academic Division's activities in international educational matters. Amongst other duties, the post-holder will work with the Cambridge-MIT Institute in the administration of the Undergraduate Exchange Education Programme, and will be responsible for other student exchange arrangements, including Erasmus-Socrates mobility programmes.

Applicants should be graduates with experience in higher education administration and an interest in international education. The salary will be within the current range of £22,522 to £34,374 a year.

Administrative appointment in the Staff Development Office

Staff Development, located within the Personnel Division of the University Offices, supports the professional and personal development of all groups of staff. Its activities include a central staff development programme, a university-wide youth training programme, and support for Departments with the practical implementation of staff development policy.

The appointee will be responsible for managing the University Youth Training Programme, co-ordinating vocational qualifications for staff, and the development and delivery of staff development courses and activities either within the central staff development programme, or in Departments and Faculties.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have experience of management of training and staff development initiatives, including the support and motivation of young people. A proven track record in the development and delivery of staff development activities is required, as are excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. It is preferred that candidates will also have CIPD qualifications or the equivalent.

The salary for this post is currently £24,435 to £29,709 a year. This is a full-time post for two years.

Medical Information Services Librarian in the University Library

The University Library is seeking a suitably qualified candidate for the temporary post of Medical Information Services Librarian in the Medical Library at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The post-holder will contribute to and develop the high quality information service provided to readers of the Medical Library. He/she should have excellent IT, organizational, and communication skills, along with a flexible approach and the capacity to work in a rapidly changing environment. The salary will be in the current range of £17,626 to £21,503 a year. This post is available until 31 July 2005.
