Equality at Cambridge - Positive Action Fair: Notice

University staff and students are invited to visit the Positive Action Fair, to be held on 19 November, at the University Centre, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Fair provides a forum for University organizations actively promoting equality for under-represented groups such as women, ethnic minorities, and disabled people. Visitors will be able to find out more about the work they do, gain practical advice on a wide range of issues, and hear Professor Joyce Hill, Director of the Equality Challenge Unit at Universities UK, who will give a talk entitled Seizing the moment: equality and diversity in Higher Education, at 1.15 p.m.

Exhibitors include the University Admissions Office, the Disability Resource Centre, and the Childcare Office; academic Departments and Colleges are also represented and include access officers from the Department of Physics, St John's College, and Homerton College. The Springboard Consultancy, which has been closely involved with the University's gender equality initiative, will also be represented.

A fully updated Exhibitor list can be seen at the Equality website at http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/personnel/equality/.

The Fair is organized by the Equal Opportunities section of the University's Personnel Division.
