Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Classics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Classics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 21 November 2002, in Room G.21, of the Classics Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue.

The main business will be to elect two members of the Faculty Board in Class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 2003; and to elect three further members of the Faculty Board in class (c), one to serve until 31 December 2003 and the other to serve until 31 December 2005.

Nominations for these elections and notice of any other business for the meeting should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Faculty of Classics, Sidgwick Avenue, to arrive not later than Monday, 11 November 2002.

Divinity

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Divinity gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002, in the Lightfoot Room of the Faculty building.

The main item of business will be the election of three members to serve in class (c), two for four years, and one for one year from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for the election (which must have the candidates' consent) and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Ms R. M. Paul, Faculty of Divinity, West Road, no later than Thursday, 7 November 2002.

Earth Sciences and Geography

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Earth Sciences and Geography gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held on Tuesday, 19 November 2002, at 2 p.m., in Room 101, The Hardy Building, Department of Geography.

The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members in class (c) to serve for four years from January 2003.

Nominations for election, signed by the proposer and seconder, and accompanied by the consent of the person nominated, together with notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty, Department of Geography, Downing Place (e-mail lcf25@cam.ac.uk), by Wednesday, 13 November 2002.

Economics and Politics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 18 November 2002, in the Meade Room, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue.

The agenda for the meeting will be circulated to each member of the Faculty. One of the items of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2003, one member to serve for two years from 1 January 2003, and one member to serve for one year from 1 January 2003.

Nominations in writing, signed by the proposer, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, should reach the Secretary, Mr K. J. Coutts, Faculty of Economics and Politics, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002. It would be convenient if notice of any other business that members wish to be discussed were sent in writing to the Secretary by 10 a.m. on Monday, 11 November 2002.

Engineering

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Engineering gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at l p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002, in Lecture Room 6 of the Engineering Department.

Ballot boxes will be available in the Press Site and the Whittle Laboratory. Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of four members in class (c), to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations and notice of any other business should be sent in writing to the Secretary, Mrs S. Collins-Taylor, to reach her not later than 5 p.m. on Monday, 11 November 2002.

English

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4.15 p.m. on Thursday, 21 November 2002, in Seminar Room 3 of the History Faculty Building, West Road. Among the business to be transacted will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board to serve for four years in class (c), from 1 January 2003; and the election of one member of the Teaching and Learning Committee and two members of the General Purposes Committee, to serve for one year from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for election, and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Mrs C. H. G. Daunton (e-mail chgd2@cam.ac.uk), Faculty of English, 27 Trumpington Street, by Wednesday, 13 November 2002 at the latest.

Modern and Medieval Languages

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, 25 November 2002, in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Avenue.

Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members in class (c) to serve for four years and two members in class (c) to serve for one year from 1 January 2003. The two members of the Board who are coming to the end of their term of service are Dr M. G. Chinca and Dr J. S. Mander. Both are eligible for re-election. The two additional vacancies are to replace resigning members.

Nominations, duly seconded, and accompanied by a statement of the candidate's consent to nomination, and notice of any other business for this meeting, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board at Sidgwick Avenue by Tuesday, 19 November 2002.
