On Monday, 4 November 2002, at 8.30 p.m. in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site, Professor A. L. Greer, of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, will deliver a lecture entitled Through a glass darkly - studies of amorphous solids. All who are interested are invited.
At a meeting held on 21 October 2002 in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, Professor K. Glover, FRS, Vice-President, was in the Chair.
Professor A. R. Venkitaraman, of the Department of Oncology, delivered a lecture entitled Breast cancer genes: guardians of the human genome. A vote of thanks was moved by Professor J. O. Thomas, FRS.
