Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Archaeology and Anthropology

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 11 November 2002, in the Seminar Room of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Downing Street. All members of the Faculty are invited to attend. Reports on the past year will be presented by the Chair of the Faculty, Heads of Department of Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, and Social Anthropology, the Director of the McDonald Institute, the Director and Curator of the Museum, the Chair of the Part I Teaching Committee, and the Haddon Library.

Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board in Class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations and notifications of any other business should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street not later than Tuesday, 5 November 2002.

Faculty members requiring the agenda and associated papers in advance of the meeting should e-mail the Secretary of the Faculty Board (hip20@hermes.cam.ac.uk) before 5 November 2002.

Architecture and History of Art

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 November 2002, in the classroom of the Department of Architecture, 1-5 Scroope Terrace. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), two members in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for election and notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art, 1-5 Scroope Terrace, by Friday, 8 November 2002.

Education

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Education gives notice that the Annual meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002, at the Faculty of Education, Shaftesbury Road. The business of the meeting will include the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of eight members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve from 1 January 2003 for four years. Retiring members are eligible for re-election.

Nominations for these elections, signed by the proposer and seconder, and by the nominee indicating willingness to serve if elected, and notice of any other business, should be sent to the Secretary of the Faculty of Education, 17 Trumpington Street, Cambridge, CB2 1QA, to reach her not later than Friday, 8 November 2002.

History

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of History gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 November 2002, in Room 3 of the Faculty of History. The business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), to serve for four years with effect from 1 January 2003; and also to discuss the Examiners' Reports for 2002, matters arising therefrom, and recommendations of the Working Party on Examining Matters; the Seeley Library Report 2001-02; the reform of Prelim. to Part I, Parts I and II of the Historical Tripos.

Nomination forms, signed by the nominee, the proposer, and seconder, should reach the Secretary at the Faculty of History, West Road, not later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 5 November 2002.

Philosophy

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Philosophy gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 25 November 2002, in the Board Room of the Faculty of Philosophy, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business will be the election of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for these elections and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary, Mrs A. Elliott, Faculty of Philosophy, Raised Faculty Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by Friday, 15 November 2002 (e-mail ae215cam.ac.uk).

Physics and Chemistry

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Physics and Chemistry gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Friday, 15 November 2002, in the Committee Room, Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road. The main business will be the election of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, for which the consent of the candidate must be obtained, should reach the Secretary at the Institute of Astronomy not later than Tuesday, 5 November 2002. Notice of any other business should reach the Secretary by the same date.

Social and Political Sciences

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002, in the Committee Room, Free School Lane.

The business of the meeting will include a report by the Chairman, and the election of members of the Faculty Board of Social and Political Sciences, in accordance with Statute C, III, 7, to fill one vacancy in class (c) from 1 January 2003 for four years, and to fill four vacancies in class (a)(ii) from 1 January 2003 for two years.

Nominations for these elections, signed by the proposer and by the nominee indicating willingness to serve if elected should be sent to the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Social and Political Sciences, Free School Lane, Cambridge, CB2 3RQ, by no later than noon on Friday, 1 November 2002.
