Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Biology

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Biology gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Friday, 8 November 2002, in the Dixon Room, Department of Pathology, Tennis Court Road. The main business is to elect three members of the Faculty Board in class (c) (Statute C, IV, 2 (c)) in accordance with a procedure approved by the Faculty by which one of those elected is nominated by the Department of Anatomy, one by the Department of Pathology, and one by the Department of Pharmacology. The representatives will serve until 31 December 2006.

Nominations, for which the consent of the candidate must be obtained, signed by the proposer and seconder, together with notice of any other business, should be sent to the Secretary, Mrs Alice Benton, Old Press Site, Silver Street, Cambridge, CB3 9EW, to arrive not later than Friday, 25 October 2002. If there is a contested election the Single Transferable Vote Regulations will apply (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 121). Copies of the Agenda will be posted in Departments in the Faculty.

Law

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Law gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 14 November 2002, in the Beckwith Moot Court Room, Faculty of Law, 10 West Road. The main item of business will be the Chairman's report. Notice of any other business should reach the Academic Secretary of the Faculty, Dr N. G. Jones, by Monday, 4 November 2002.

Mathematics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Mathematics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 21 November 2002, in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Meeting Room 13, Pavilion E. The main item of business will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2, of two members of the Faculty Board in class (a)ii, to serve for two years from 1 January 2003, and two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for these elections should reach the Acting Secretary of the Faculty Board of Mathematics, Faculty Office, Room B1.29, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Wilberforce Road, not later than noon on Thursday, 14 November.

Nominations should be in writing, should bear the signatures of the proposer and seconder, and should contain a signed statement by the nominee that he/she would consent to serve if elected. Any further items for the agenda should reach the Acting Secretary by the same date.

Music

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Music gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, 7 November 2002, in Lecture Room 2 of the University Music School. Among the business to be transacted will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board to serve for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nominations for the election and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Mrs S. C. Round, Faculty of Music, 11 West Road, not later than Thursday, 31 October 2002.

Oriental Studies

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Oriental Studies gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 12 November 2002, in Lecture Room 1, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Avenue. Among the business to be transacted will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of six members to serve on the Faculty Board for four years from 1 January 2003.

Nomination forms are available from Mrs F. J. Fisher-Hunt, Faculty Administrator, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Site (tel. 01223 335107, e-mail fjf24@cam.ac.uk). Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, should be returned to the Administrator not later than Tuesday, 5 November 2002, together with notice of any other business.
