St John's College

LECTURESHIP IN FRENCH

Applications are invited from suitably qualified men and women for a stipendiary College Lectureship in French, with effect from 1 January 2003. Initially the post will be for one year, with confirmation of a further one year and two terms (to end in September 2005) after completion of the first two terms. The Lecturer will be required to give up to nine hours of undergraduate teaching a week, mainly in the modern (nineteenth and twentieth century) period, together with the preparation of students for the preliminary examinations at the end of the first year. Candidates should be prepared to undertake some language teaching. The salary will be on the scale of £20,470 to £23,373 a year, together with certain benefits and allowances. A teaching room will be provided.
