King's College

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN THE ARTS, HUMANITIES, OR SOCIAL SCIENCES

The Governing Body of King's College invites applications for a stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship in the Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences. The Fellowship will be tenable for up to four years from 1 October 2003.

Graduates of any university are eligible subject to the condition that they shall have obtained, or expect to obtain, a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent. The successful candidate will be a member of King's College and will be expected to take a full part in College life and will be expected to reside in Cambridge.

The closing date for applications is 4 November 2002. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to attend an interview on 28 January 2003.

TRAPNELL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, CHEMICAL BIOLOGY, OR BIO-INORGANIC CHEMISTRY

King's College wishes to appoint a Trapnell Fellow in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or Bio-Inorganic Chemistry. This Fellowship is non-stipendiary, but offers a retainer of £1,000 a year, and full Fellowship rights, which include free meals, subsidized accommodation, office space, and limited funds for research expenses. A Trapnell Fellow is expected to teach six hours a week during term for the College (for which additional payment is paid), and to take a full part in the life of the College.

The Trapnell Fellowship may be held from 1 October 2003 to 30 September 2007. JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE POSITION IN ANTHROPOLOGY

King's College wishes to appoint a Junior Research Fellow (a Faculty level position) and a Postdoctoral Associate to work in the field of Social or Cultural Anthropology, with a specific interest in the theory and practice of description both in and about other societies. The successful candidates may work in any area, but will be expected to collaborate with other scholars working in an interdisciplinary manner under the general heading of 'description'.

The successful candidates will be members of King's College and will be expected to take a full part in College life. Although these are research posts, teaching opportunities will be made available and are encouraged.

The basic salary of the Fellowship is £15,430 to £19,718 a year, according to age and academic qualification. The Fellowship may be held for up to four years from 1 October 2003.

The basic salary of the Postdoctoral Associate is £15,000. The Postdoctoral Associate position may be held for up to two years from 1 October 2003.

Candidates may apply for a Fellowship or Postdoctoral Associate position or both. Subsidized accommodation may be available in College for both positions.
