Examination in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic for the M.Phil. Degree

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 462)

With effect from 1 October 2002

The regulations have been amended so as to replace the requirement for a bibliography by that for a bibliographical essay or other exercise constituting a review of scholarship in the field of the candidate's dissertation. The regulations have further been amended to replace the requirement for two essays each not exceeding 4,000 words in length by a broader requirement for two written exercises in scholarly skill.

Regulation 1.

By amending sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) so as to read:

(a) such bibliographical, textual, or methodological exercises as the Degree Committee for the Faculty of English shall from time to time determine;
(b) two written exercises in scholarly skill, one of which may be an essay not exceeding 4,000 words in length, on topics approved or prescribed by the Degree Committee;
