Election, appointments, and reappointments

The following election, appointments, and reappointments have been made:

Election

Professor A. Sen, B.Sc., Calcutta, M.Sc., Kanpur, Ph.D., Stony Brook, New York, elected Rothschild Visiting Professor from 21 June 2002 until 20 July 2002, assigned to the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences.

Appointments

Astronomy. Dr N. W. Evans, M.A., Ph.D., K, appointed from 1 October 2002 for three years.

Classics. Dr E. J. Gowers, M.A., Ph.D., T, appointed from 1 October 2002 for three years.

Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics. Dr T. A. Fisher, M.A., Ph.D., SID, appointed from 1 October 2002 for three years.

Assistant Director of Research

Biochemistry. Dr D. Nietlispach, Dip., M.Sc., Ph.D., Zurich, appointed from 1 March 2002 for five years.

Computer Officer

Physics. Mr C. W. M. Williams, d.i.s., Utrecht, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 1 January 2002 for five years.

Experimental Psychology. Dr K. Plaisted, JN, reappointed from 1 April 2003 until the retiring age.

Clinical Medicine. Dr D. Rubenstein, TH, reappointed from 1 October 2001 for five years. Dr P. J. D. Milton, TH, reappointed from 1 January 2002 for five years. Dr C. Camilleri-Ferrante reappointed from 1 March 2002 for five years.
