The Joint Telecommunications Management Committee currently provides free telephone access to the institutions of Oxford University by the use of access code 147.
This service is no longer cost effective and will be ceased with effect from 31 August 2002. After that date all calls to Oxford University should be dialled using the Oxford national code (01865). All calls will be charged at the normal national rate. Please see http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/cam-only/offices/telecomm/charges.html for details.
Extension users continuing to call Oxford extensions using the 147 code will receive a recorded announcement advising them of the change. Extension users can contact the Oxford University switchboard on 01865 270000.
