The Arthritis Research Campaign (arc) wish to award a number of prestigious Ph.D. Studentships in 2003 to encourage outstanding young science graduates to enter a research career in rheumatology.
Studentships will be awarded to university departments by open competition and will be tenable for three years starting in October 2003. The awards will provide a generous incremental tax-free stipend, currently at £13,851 in London or £11,708 outside London (subject to review in July 2002), plus UK tuition fees and £5,000 a year towards research expenses.
University departments are invited to submit proposal for research projects that have clear relevance to the aims of the arc and which will provide broad research training in a multidisciplinary environment.

Application forms should be returned to the above address no later that 19 August 2002.
