2003 RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS COMPETITION

This is an advance notice that advertisements inviting applications for the following Research Fellowships will be published in the Reporter in Michaelmas Term 2002 and elected Fellows will take up the posts on 1 October 2003.

Two non-stipendiary Research Fellows in any subject area.

A non-stipendiary Microsoft Research Fellow in the field of adaptive computing, including topics such as pattern recognition, probabilistic inference, statistical learning theory, and computer vision.

A non-stipendiary Schlumberger Interdisciplinary Research Fellow to pursue interdisciplinary research across one or more lines of inquiry in the physical or biological sciences, mathematics, information sciences, or the social and economic aspects of technology and technology management.

A stipendiary Moses and Mary Finley Research Fellow to research into the ancient history of the Mediterranean world and/or the near East, down to the end of the sixth century AD.
