(Reporter, p. 247)

With effect from 1 October 2002

The Faculty Board of Economics and Politics have proposed that selected students in the Faculty should have the opportunity to take part in the programme of student exchanges between the University of Cambridge and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In order to enable students who undertake such exchanges to comply with the requirements for entry to Part IIB of the Economics Tripos, the new regulations for the Tripos have been amended as set out below.

Regulation 5.

A student who, under arrangements approved by the Faculty Board, has spent not less than three terms studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has been certified by the President of the Institute after consultation with the Chairman of Examiners for Part IIA of the Economics Tripos to have studied diligently during that period, shall be deemed thereby to have obtained honours in that Part of the Tripos. A list containing the names of persons so qualified shall be certified by the Chairman of the Faculty Board and published in the Reporter.

Regulation 6.

By inserting in line 2 after the words 'Economics Tripos' the following 'or has been deemed to have obtained Honours in Part IIA of the Economics Tripos under Regulation 5'.
