St Peter's College

STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN PHILOSOPHY

Applications are invited for a Stipendiary Lecturer-ship in Philosophy for six hours a week, starting on 1 October 2002. Appointment will be for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal for a maximum of two further years. The Lecturer will be required to contribute to the teaching of philosophy papers for PPE and other undergraduate degrees which include Philosophy. He or she will also help to arrange teaching for, and/or teach, a number of Visiting Students admitted under the University's official programme. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in admissions procedures and share the administration of undergraduate Philosophy teaching in the College.

Candidates with any area of research interest are encouraged to apply. However, an ability to teach first-year Logic, including the elements of deductive logic course; knowledge and reality; and the philosophy of mind would be an advantage.

Remuneration will be within the scale of £8,213 to £10,131 a year. The Lecturer will have Senior Common Room rights, including an entitlement to free meals in term and most of the vacation, and the use of a room in College for teaching purposes.
