Cambridge Donner Book Prize 2002

The Donner Atlantic Studies Programme of the Centre of International Studies at the University of Cambridge, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2002 Cambridge Donner Book Prize. The reading committee, which consists of the Director and Fellows at the Centre of International Studies at the University of Cambridge, found the entries excellent, which lead to the prize being shared. The two winners are: Hidden Hand: Britain, America, and Cold War Secret Intelligence by Richard J. Aldrich, published by John Murray Publishers, and A Special Relationship by John Dumbrell, published by Palgrave. The two authors are both invited to the University of Cambridge to deliver remarks and to receive the prize of £2,000 each on 22 October 2002.

Richard J. Aldrich is a Professor of Politics at the University of Nottingham and co-editor of the journal Intelligence and National Security and has published extensively on secret service, including Intelligence and the War against Japan: Britain, America, and the Politics of Secret Service. John Dumbrell is Reader in American Studies at the University of Keele and has also written American Foreign Policy: Carter to Clinton.
