Joint course in Law between the Universities of Cambridge and Paris II: Notice

The Faculty Board of Law give notice that, with the approval of the General Board, they have amended the list of subjects to be taken by students following the joint course in Law during the period spent in Cambridge (Annex 1 of the Joint Report of the Council and the General Board on the establishment of a joint course in Law between the Universities of Cambridge and Paris II, Reporter, 1997-98, p. 959). It has been agreed with the University of Paris II that in their first year the students should take a paper in French Law in place of the paper in Civil Law otherwise required in Part IA of the Law Tripos. The regulations for the Law Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 311) have accordingly been amended, with effect from 1 October 2002, as follows:

Regulation 19.

By adding the following new paper in Group I:

Paper 5. French Law.1

Regulation 20.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

20. A candidate for honours in Part IA of the Tripos shall offer Papers 1-4 from Group 1, provided that a candidate who has been approved to follow a course at the University of Paris II under Regulation 9 and who intends to follow such a course shall offer Paper 5 instead of Paper 1.

Regulation 21

By inserting in sub-paragraph (iii) in line 2 after the words 'Regulation 9' the words 'and who intends to follow such a course'.

1 This paper is only available to candidates who have been approved to follow a course at the University of Paris II under Regulation 9 (see Regulation 20).
