Graces submitted to the Regent House on 1 May 2002

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 10 May 2002.

1. That, in the following regulations, reference to a College or Colleges of the Cambridge Theological Federation be replaced by references to an institution or institutions within the Federation.1

A. Regulation 4(g) of the regulations for examination requirements for matriculation (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 170);

B. Regulation 2 of the regulations for disclosure of examination marks (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 215);

C. Regulation 1(c) of the regulations for payments to Examiners and Assessors (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 220).

2. That the regulations for the precincts of the University and residence be amended as follows:2

Regulation 2.

By amending sub-paragraphs (b) and (d) so as to read:

(b) in any of the following places which shall be recognized as houses of residence for such number of students in each case as the Council, after consultation with the Accommodation Syndicate, may from time to time determine: Margaret Beaufort Institute, Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies, Ridley Hall, Wesley House, Westcott House, and Westminster College;
(d) in any hospital or nursing home within the precincts of the University, or in any hospital of the Addenbrooke's NHS Trust or the Lifespan Healthcare Trust, or in Papworth Hospital, or, as a student for the M.B., B.Chir. Degrees only, in the West Suffolk Hospital;

3. That the regulations for entries and lists of candidates for examinations be amended as follows:3

Regulation 10.

By adding the following to the list of examinations:

Second M.B. Examination (Easter Term)

Second Vet.M.B. Examination (Easter Term)

Regulation 12.

By amending the entries for the Second M.B. and Second Vet.M.B. Examinations so as to read:

Second M.B. Examination (Lent Term)

Second Vet.M.B. Examination (Lent Term)

Regulation 13.

By amending sub-paragraph (b) so as to read:

(b) Second M.B. and Second Vet.M.B. Examination (July and September examinations)

Four weeks before the beginning of the examination Circulation by the Registrary of the lists of candidates for each subject of these examinations.

One week before examination begins Latest date for corrections of entries to be returned to the Registrary by Colleges.

4. That the regulations for the dates of examinations and the publication of class-lists be amended, with effect from 1 October 2002, as follows:4

Regulation 2.

By amending the entry under 'Wednesday before last Sunday in May' for Part II of the Economics Tripos so as to read 'Economics, Part IIB,' and by including under 'Monday before first Sunday in June' 'Economics, Part IIA'.

1 The Cambridge Theological Federation has recently expanded to include the following institutions: the Margaret Beaufort Institute and the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies. The wording of the regulations has been amended to take account of this.

2 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 179. The Council have agreed to recognize the Margaret Beaufort Institute and the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies as houses of residence.

Students pursuing clinical studies for the Cambridge Graduate Course in Medicine do so at the West Suffolk Hospital, Bury St Edmunds. The Council have agreed to include this hospital in the list of hospitals for purposes of residence.

3 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 209. Changes to the timetable for producing entries and lists of candidates for the examinations in certain of the subjects for the Second M.B. and Second Vet.M.B. Examinations are necessary following the introduction of Revised Regulations for these examinations.
