Review of contractual terms and conditions for academic-related staff: Notice by the Personnel Committee

The Council have asked the Personnel Committee to conduct a review of the terms and conditions of employment of academic-related staff. This is timely as the implementation of the Fixed Term Working Directive will necessitate changes in the University's current practices with regard to making appointments. The review also presents an opportunity to introduce some changes that might assist with staff recruitment and retention and to introduce structured probationary arrangements.

The General Board and the Council have recently approved a consultation paper on which comments from interested parties are invited. The paper is available on the University website at http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/cam-only/offices/personnel/ar/consultation.html.

Written comments should be submitted to Mrs L. M. Newbold, Personnel Division, preferably by e-mail to lmn1@admin.cam.ac.uk, not later than 27 May 2002.
