Somerville College and Trinity College

TWO-YEAR TWELVE HOUR STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN ANCIENT HISTORY

Somerville College and Trinity College invite applications for the post of Stipendiary Lecturer in Ancient History for two years from 1 October 2002. The lecturer will be required to provide an annual average of twelve hours' tutorial teaching a week (six per College) during the three Full Terms (each lasting eight weeks) of the academical year. The lecturer will be required to teach a range of periods of Greek and or Roman History, and options within the undergraduate courses of Classics, Ancient and Modern History, and Classical Archaeology and Ancient History.

The appointment will be on point one (currently £16,426) or point two (currently £17,446) of an incremental scale, depending on experience. The lecturer will have a teaching room in Somerville College and will be a member of the Senior Common Room of both Colleges. He or she will be entitled to a number of meals in each College during Full Term.
