Downing College

DOMESTIC BURSAR

Applications are invited for the newly created full-time post of Domestic Bursar. The post-holder will have particular responsibility for health and safety. He or she will support the Bursar in the management of College staff and day-to-day management of College grounds and buildings, including repair, maintenance, and the supervision of improvements. She or he will deputize for the Bursar when necessary.

The post requires extensive management and administrative experience and interested applicants may come from a variety of backgrounds, including, but not necessarily, education. Excellent staff management and cost control skills are required, together with experience of implementing and monitoring Health and Safety policy.

Appointment will be made in the salary range of £31,000 to £35,000, pensionable under the USS. Cost of living increases will be in line with national settlements for University academic and academically related staff. The post-holder will become a Fellow Commoner of the College.
