Announcement of lectures and seminars

The following lectures and seminars will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Computer Laboratory. Richard Gold, of FhG Fokus, will give a seminar entitled Overlaying and undermining IP, on Wednesday, 13 March, at 4.15 p.m. in Lecture Theatre 1, William Gates Building, J. J. Thomson Avenue, off Madingley Road.

Criminology. A lecture entitled Adolescent crime in context - presentation of the key findings from the Peterborough Youth Study will be given by Professor P-O. Wikström on Monday, 11 March, at 2.30 p.m. in LG19 in the Faculty of Law, Sidgwick Site. Commentators: Professor Sir Anthony Bottoms, Institute of Criminology, and Professor Roxanne Lieb, Director of the Washington State Institute of Public Policy.

German Studies Group. Professor Sander L. Gilman will present a lecture entitled Jurek Becker and 1968. Opposition and the Stasi, in the Music Room, Downing College, on 6 March, at 8.15 p.m.

Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure. The seminar to have been given by Ms Samantha Sneddon on 11 March, entitled Infant mortality in the English Fens in the nineteenth century: some problems, has been postponed until 10 June.

Land Economy. Professor William Howard, of the University of Kent at Canterbury, will give a seminar entitled Allocating blame for flooding, on 13 March, at 1 p.m. in 1 Laundress Lane (old Department of Land Economy Library).

Social and Political Sciences. The following lectures will take place in the Committee Room, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Free School Lane, at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

6 March Victorian images of ageing, by Mike Hepworth, of the University of Aberdeen.
13 March Britain (not) at the Polls, by Harold Clarke, of the University of Dallas, Texas.
