Report of the General Board on the establishment of a Professorship of Photonics of Molecular Materials: Notice

The Council have received the remarks made at the Discussion of this Report on 12 February 2002 (p. 554). Dr Evans queried the term for which the Professorship would be established and whether it would be advertised. The Council note that the General Board are satisfied that sufficient funding for the Professorship is available to permit its permanent establishment. Subject to the approval of the recommendations in the Report by the Regent House, the Professorship will be advertised in accordance with the usual procedures.

The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House for the approval of the recommendations of the Report (Grace 3, p. 546). They will refer Professor Edwards's comments on Royal Society Professorships to the General Board and the Personnel Committee for consideration.
