Newnham College

ASSOCIATE LECTURESHIPS IN PHYSICAL SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING

Newnham College invites applications from men and women for two Associate Lectureships involving the equivalent of three hours' teaching a week during Full Term time (twenty weeks of the year), primarily to Part I students. Associate Lecturers are also expected to take an interest in the promotion of their subject amongst students of the College.

The person appointed will have interests in teaching and research in either:

(i) any field of the physical sciences, with preference for those in Materials and Minerals Sciences, Chemistry, and Mathematics for Physical Sciences; or
(ii) any field of Engineering.

The College pays Associate Lecturers at twenty-five per cent above the usual supervision rates, offers seven meals a week without charge, use of IT equipment, and use of a room for conducting teaching. The post will be tenable only in conjunction with another salaried academic or research appointment in the University of Cambridge or local research institution. It will be tenable from 1 October 2002, for one year in the first instance, and may be renewed on an annual basis following a review.
