Announcement of lectures and seminars

The following lectures and seminars will be open to members of the University and others who are interested:

Special Trevelyan Lecture. There will be a special Trevelyan Lecture on behalf of the Faculty of History by Professor Ian Kershaw, FBA, of the University of Sheffield, entitled Hitler and the uniqueness of Nazism on Tuesday, 26 February 2002, at 5 p.m. in Lecture Theatre LG19, Faculty of Law, West Road.

Centre for Modern Hebrew Studies. It is with regret that the talk scheduled for Wednesday, 27 February 2002, by Professor R. Kartun-Blum of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, has had to be cancelled.

Isaac Newton Institute. A seminar entitled An introduction to spaces of arcs in the study of singularities, by Dr Mircea Mustata (Nice), will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, 18 February in Seminar Room 1, Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 20 Clarkson Road. Tea will be served from 4.30 p.m. and there will be an informal reception afterwards.

Zoology. The Michael Perkins Lecture 2002 entitled Circuit dynamics, oscillations, and olfactory codes will be given by Professor Gilles Laurent, of the Californian Institute of Technology, and will be held in the Main Lecture Theatre, Department of Zoology, Downing Street, at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 7 March 2002.
