Lincoln College

FIXED-TERM DARBY FELLOWSHIP IN ENGLISH

Lincoln College invites applications from graduates, either men or women, for a fixed-term Darby Fellowship in English with effect from 1 October 2002 to 30 September 2007. Normally, applicants have either recently obtained or are in the final stages of completing a doctorate. The Darby Fellow will be required to provide an average of twelve hours' tutorial teaching a week per term.

The Fellow will be required to teach Old English and Middle English to the first year for Honour Moderations and English Literature from 1100 to 1509 and the History, Uses, and Theory of the English Language to the second and third year for the Final Honour School, as well as such Special Authors and Special Topics as fall within his or her area of competence.

The salary offered is at present £21,503 (year one) to £24,455 (year five) plus common-room rights and allowances towards teaching and research. Single occupancy accommodation may be offered with wardenship duties.
