School of Clinical Medicine: Notice

The Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine have recently formalized the strategic and operational management arrangements for the Clinical School's Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) and take this opportunity to explain the status of the Institute. The Institute is a full constituent of the Clinical School operating under regulations set up by the Faculty Board. It is housed within the Wellcome Trust/MRC Building on the Addenbrooke's site. It operates as a research centre housing staff of the Departments of Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Medical Genetics, Medicine, Oncology, and Department of Pathology, working in the areas of medical genetics, metabolic medicine and endocrinology, cell biology, infection and immunity, structural biology, developmental biology, cancer, and in the Diabetes and Inflammation Laboratory. From 1 January 2002 the Faculty Board have appointed Professor Paul Luzio as Director, succeeding Professor Jennie Blackwell, and Professor David Lomas as Deputy Director.
