Directorship of the Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF) in the Judge Institute of Management Studies

Applications are invited for the post of Director of Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance (CERF). Candidates will provide academic leadership and should possess proven managerial, administrative, fundraising skills, and a strong research record in a relevant discipline.

The Cambridge Endowment for Research in Finance is a new independent research fund based at the Judge Institute of Management Studies. The role of the Director will be to use the research endowment to promote research in finance in the University and he/she will be responsible for the general policy and intellectual development of CERF and its research programmes, will be expected to play a leading role in generating further external funds for CERF, and will be responsible for the operational, financial, and administrative management of CERF.

It is hoped that the successful candidate will take up appointment as soon as possible. The appointment will be for five years, in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment for five year periods, or exceptionally ten years, until the retiring age. The University has made provision to consider the establishment of a Professorship for a Director of the appropriate academic standing.

Lecturer in the Department of Radiology (with an interest in Oncological Imaging)

Lecturer at Consultant level in the Department of Radiology to take up appointment from 1 October 2002. The successful applicant, who will be recommended for an honorary consultant contract with the Addenbrooke's NHS Trust, will be required to undertake teaching, research, and clinical work. The appointment will be for five years in the first instance.

The successful candidate will be eligible to receive an additional payment for clinical responsibility related to the amount of NHS work undertaken. If, as expected, the Lecturer undertakes the equivalent of six or more NHS sessions a week of clinical work the payment will be such as to bring his or her total pensionable emoluments into line with a point on the NHS salary scale for consultants (from £50,810 to £66,120).
