HERBERT DUNHILL PROFESSORSHIP OF NEURO-IMAGING

The University of Oxford and the Medical Research Council are investing further in expertise and imaging technology for the purposes of advancing biomedical research and clinical medicine. As part of these initiatives, the electors intend to proceed to an election to the newly-established Herbert Dunhill Professorship of Neuro-imaging with effect from 1 October 2002, or such later date as may be arranged.

Candidates should have an established research programme in brain imaging, potentially including, but not limited to, applications of MRI, fMRI, or MRS, and should have demonstrated a capacity or potential for senior academic leadership.

The successful candidate may or may not be clinically qualified. Both clinicians and non-clinicians are encouraged to apply if they have the appropriate research interests, expertise, and grant-earning capacity, and if they can offer the appropriate leadership. A nonstipendiary Fellowship at University College is attached to the Professorship.

Applications (ten copies, or one only from overseas candidates), naming three persons (with postal and e-mail addresses, including telephone/fax numbers) who have agreed to act as referees on this occasion, should be received not later than 11 March 2002 by the Registrar, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further particulars may be obtained. Further particulars may also be accessed on the web (http://www.admin.ox.ac.uk/fp/).
