RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS

Up to four Elizabeth Cherry Research Students' Scholarships, each of £500 a year, may be awarded to new applicants for admission who intend to read for the Ph.D. Degree and choose Hughes Hall as their College of first preference. Fee-paying students may have their tenure of these awards renewed for a second and third year subject to good progress.

Application forms, returnable by 15 February 2002, may be obtained from the Admissions Officer, Hughes Hall, Cambridge, CB1 2EW.

NON-STIPENDIARY POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

The College proposes to award at least two non-stipendiary Research Fellowships, tenable for three years from 1 October 2002, if suitable candidates present themselves. These Fellowships may be renewed for a further period of two years. There is no age limit or subject preference but candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent qualification within the last ten years or expect to be awarded one by 1 October 2002. The Research Fellows will be members of the Governing Body, eligible to sit on College committees, and will be expected to play an active role in College life. They will be entitled to the normal privileges of Fellows and modest financial support may be available when attending meetings as participants and towards expenses associated with their research. Applications should be sent to Dr M. J. Franklin, Registrary, Hughes Hall, Cambridge, CB1 2EW, by 15 February 2002, together with a curriculum vitae, the names of three referees, a statement of not more than 1,000 words outlining present and future research, and details of the applicant's present and expected means of financial support.
