Mellon Research Fellowship in American History: Notice

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 799)

Applications are invited for a Mellon Research Fellowship in American History, tenable for a minimum of one year from 1 October 2002 with the possibility of renewal to a maximum of four years. It is expected that candidates will either have completed a Ph.D. dissertation or be able to submit substantial written work if requested. The stipend will be in the range of £17,451 to £26,229.

Further particulars may be obtained from the Secretary of the Mellon Fellowship Fund, Faculty of History, West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9EF, to whom applications should also be sent to arrive by 15 February 2002. Applications (quoting ref. H21) should include a statement of proposed research and a curriculum vitae, together with the names of three referees who have knowledge of the candidate's work. Candidates should ask their referees to send references direct to the Secretary to the Managers to arrive by 15 February 2002. Applications may also be sent by e-mail to agh21@cam.ac.uk. The Appointments Committee will first meet before the end of February and will then request samples of work from short-listed candidates. The Appointments Committee hopes to meet again in April to make the appointment. It will not ask candidates for interview.
