Merton College

OFFICIAL FELLOW AND TUTOR IN PHILOSOPHY

The College proposes to elect a Fellow and Tutor in Philosophy with effect from 1 October 2002. The appointment is conjoined with an Oxford University Lecturership (CUF) in Philosophy. An ability to teach moral philosophy is essential; an interest in the overlap between this subject and either political or economic theory is desirable, but not essential; otherwise no particular field is specified, but candidates who can teach over a wide range will be at an advantage. Between candidates who are judged equal in other respects, preference may be given to those with a special interest in the history of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century philosophy. The salary is on an age-related scale. Further particulars are available from the Warden's Secretary, Merton College, Oxford, OX1 4JD (tel. 01865 276352, e-mail moira.wise@admin.merton.ox.ac.uk). Applications should reach the College by 25 January 2002.
