Reports of the Council on the Unified Administrative Service

17 December 2001

The Registrary gives notice of the following result of the postal ballot held between 30 November and 17 December 2001:

Grace 1 of 20 June 2001: Regulations for the University Offices

The results of the voting on this Grace are as follows:

Option (a) approval of the Grace unamended.

Option (b) approval of the Grace as amended by the Council in their Second Report.

Option (c) rejection of the Grace.

Number of valid votes: 697

Since the STV regulations are being used on this occasion to ascertain which single option commands the greatest support, the quota (i.e. the number of votes required to guarantee overall support for any one option to the exclusion of the others) is 349.

This Grace is therefore approved in the following amended form:

That, with effect from 1 October 2001, the regulations for the Unified Administrative Service (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 657) be replaced by the regulations for the University Offices set out in Annex 2 to the Second Report of the Council, dated 24 September 2001, on the Unified Administrative Service (Reporter, 2001-02, p. 23).

Grace 2 of 20 June 2001: Regulations for the Estate Management and Building Service

The results of the voting on this Grace are as follows:

In favour of the Grace: 597
Against the Grace: 72

This Grace, that the regulations for the Estate Management and Building Service be rescinded, is therefore approved.
