ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN SMALL ANIMAL INTERNAL MEDICINE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE (CLINIC AND POLYCLINIC OF SMALL ANIMALS)

Applications are invited for the tenured position of Associate Professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine including Dermatology, Hematology, and Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will be required to provide teaching at first degree and graduate level and for residents, research and clinical work in the area described.

In line with article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz), a postdoctoral lecturing qualification (Habilitation) or comparable qualifications for a teaching career in higher education, as well as certified qualification as a specialist in internal medicine, are required.

The successful candidate will have longstanding clinical practice in internal medicine and dermatology, a proven record of research in the area and experience in the field of ECVIM resident education. She/he should be board certified ECVIM or ACVIM. She/he is expected to have experience in securing external funding and in managing externally funded projects, as well as several years of international experience in teaching and research.

FULL PROFESSOR IN VETERINARY BIOCHEMISTRY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

Applications are invited for the tenured position of Full Professor in Veterinary Biochemistry. The successful candidate will be required to provide teaching and research in this area.

In line with article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz), a postdoctoral lecturing qualification (Habilitation) in Biochemistry or comparable qualifications for a teaching career in higher education are required.

The successful candidate will have several years' teaching experience and is expected to co-operate with colleagues in the research groups of the department. She/he will have expertise in the areas of cell biology or molecular endocrinology, in securing external funding, in managing externally funded projects, and will have international experience in teaching and research.

For both posts, in general, the language of instruction will be German, but some activities may be offered in English. Non-German speaking applicants will be expected to learn German within two years.
