NOLLOTH PROFESSORSHIP OF THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION

The Electors intend to proceed to an election to the Nolloth Professorship of the Philosophy of the Christian Religion with effect from 1 October 2002, or such later date as may be arranged, in succession to Professor R. G. Swinburne, FBA. A non-stipendiary fellowship at Oriel College is attached to the Professorship.

RHODES PROFESSORSHIP OF AMERICAN HISTORY

The Electors intend to proceed to an election to the Rhodes Professorship of American History with effect from 1 October 2002, in succession to Professor D. W. Howe. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at St Catherine's College is attached to the Professorship.

THOMAS WARTON PROFESSORSHIP OF ENGLISH LITERATURE

The Electors intend to proceed to an election to the Thomas Warton Professorship of English Literature with effect from 1 October 2002, or such later date as may be arranged.

The Board of the Faculty of English wishes to make an appointment in the period 1700-1900. Research and teaching expertise in literary, critical, or cultural theory may be an advantage. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at St Catherine's College is attached to the Professorship.
