COLLEGE NOTICES

Corpus Christi College

DEAN OR CHAPLAIN

Applications are invited from graduates who are ordained priests of the Church of England (or of a Church in full communion with it) for the post of Dean or Chaplain, for two years in the first instance (with the possibility of renewal for a further period of three years), from 15 April 2002.

The Dean or Chaplain is responsible, subject to the general control of the Governing Body, for religious worship and instruction in the College, administration and organization of the life of the Chapel, and for leading its services, both regular and occasional. The College has a strong choral tradition, and it is expected that the Dean or Chaplain will maintain and encourage this. The Dean or Chaplain is also expected to be pastorally available to all members of the College community, regardless of faith.

The Dean or Chaplain will be elected to a Fellowship of the College and membership of the Governing Body. He or she will also have the opportunity of pursuing scholarly interests and, if appropriate, may undertake a limited amount of teaching. The stipend will be in the range of £19,486 to £34,390 (subject to review) depend-ing on age, qualifications, and experience. Rent-free furnished rooms will be available in College, if single, and accommodation in College property may be available at subsidized rent, if married.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, together with a short supporting statement setting out their suitability for the post. The names and addresses of three referees should also be included. Referees should be asked by the applicant to send their references in confidence to the Master, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, CB2 1RH (from whom further details may be obtained). Both applications and references should be received by 7 January 2002.
