University Library: Notice

The Library Syndicate has established a task force to provide it with advice on how the immediate difficulties of newspaper storage in the University Library might be addressed. The task force will also consider the Library's long term policy on the retention of newspapers, including possible replacement with microfilm or digital surrogates. The membership of the task force is: Professor M. Schofield (JN) (Chairman), Professor P. E. Easterling (N), Dr D. J. McKitterick (T), Mr B. Jenkins (UL), Mr P. Taylor-Crush (UL), and Mr C. A. Simmonds (UL) (Secretary). The task force will have its first meeting towards the end of this term and plans to report to the Syndicate in the Lent Term.

It would be pleased to receive the views of interested parties, whether via oral communications with its members, or by written submissions, which should be sent to Clive Simmonds at the University Library (e-mail cas11@cam.ac.uk) by Friday, 30 November.
