Elections, appointments, and reappointments

The following elections, appointments, and reappointments have been made:

Elections

Professor J. D. Shilling, B.A., Otterbein, M.S., Ph.D., Purdue, who was elected Grosvenor Professor of Real Estate Finance from 1 July 2000 and took up his appointment on 17 August 2001.

Professor L. Martinez Alonso, elected BBV Foundation Visiting Professor from 23 July 2001 to 21 December 2001.

Mr P. L. Agar, B.A., DOW, D.Phil., York, M.B.A., London, British Consul General, Toronto and Director of Trade and Investment, Canada, formerly Deputy Director General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), appointed from 1 January 2002 for two years.

University Lecturers

Clinical Medicine. Dr D. P. Dutka, B.Med.Sci. (Hons), B.M., B.S., D.M., Nottingham, MRCP, appointed from 1 September 2001 for five years.

Associate Lecturer

Clinical Medicine. Mr D. Flanagan, M.B., B.Ch., Trinity College Dublin, FRCS, FRCOphth, appointed from 1 July 2001 for five years.

Heads of Department

Professor J. Danesh, appointed Head of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care.

Professor N. Oliver, appointed Assistant Director of the Economic and Social Research Council's Centre for Business Research from 1 April 2001 to 30 September 2004.

Secretaries

Judge Institute of Management Studies. Ms R. Whittingham-Boothe, B.A. (Hons), East Anglia, appointed Departmental Secretary, Grade C*, designated Educational Services Manager, from 10 September 2001 for three years.
