University Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy

Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in the Department of Anatomy. The Department has strong and vibrant research programmes in a range of areas, with particular strengths in Neuroscience Development and Imaging. The Department's teaching responsibilities encompass courses for pre-clinical students in medical and veterinary science, as well as some courses for biological sciences. This Department is keen to appoint someone with a Ph.D. Degree or clinical experience, who is enthusiastic and motivated about both research and teaching, and who has the potential to establish an outstanding research programme which could complement those in the Department. Candidates who have significant postdoctoral/post-clinical experience, which demonstrates their research and/or teaching ability, are encouraged to apply.

The appointment will be for five years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment to the retirement age. The pensionable scale of stipends for a University Lecturer is currently £22,299 a year, rising by eleven annual increments to £34,390.

Assistant Registrary in the University Offices (Personnel Division)

Applications are invited for the post of Personnel Officer (Equal Opportunities). The postholder will play a major role in implementing the University's Equal Opportunity policy and outcomes of the recent Equality Audit. Essential requirements include a knowledge of relevant legislation, communication and problem solving skills, and relevant previous experience.

Candidates should be educated to degree level with at least five years' experience in a previous appointment, with significant equal opportunities responsibilities.

Appointment will be for three years in the first instance, to an academic-related post at the level of Assistant Registrary. The pensionable scale of stipends for an Assistant Registrary is £22,299 to £34,390 a year.

Temporary Departmental Administrator

An experienced administrator is sought as a maternity leave cover for the Department of Zoology, from 1 December 2001. The person appointed will support the Head of Department, particularly in the areas of finance, personnel, and health and safety.
