AWARDS BY OUTSIDE BODIES

Humanitarian Trust

STUDENTSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL LAW

The Humanitarian Trust has sponsored a fund from which studentships may be awarded from time to time for research students at Cambridge studying for a Ph.D., M.Litt., or Diploma, in any field of international law. Candidates must produce evidence that they have obtained, or are likely to obtain, before the end of the academical year of their candidature, a degree or diploma at a university or college in the Commonwealth of Nations, the United States of America, the Continent of Europe, the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, or at any other university or college approved by the Electors for the purpose of this regulation. They must also produce evidence of their fitness to engage in advanced study. Students must be of sufficient merit. The value of the studentship is ordinarily £1,000 a year, payable termly in advance. It may be held concurrently with another award or scholarship, except for a Commonwealth Fund Fellowship, a College Fellowship, or endowment of similar magnitude. The studentship is tenable for a year, but may be extended for a further year. Certain travel expenses associated with the student's work may also be paid.

Applications for the 2002 studentship close on 1 January 2002. There is no application form. Applications should be forwarded, with brief details of work, and the names of two referees, to the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Faculty of Law, 10 West Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DZ.
