Two meetings, under the general title of J. W. Clark: a celebration of 'The Care of Books' (1901), whales, theatre, museums, Cambridge University, etc., will take place in November and December, in the Winstanley Lecture Theatre, Trinity College.
The 30 November meeting will deal with Willis and Clark, and the titles The Architectural History of the University of Cambridge and The Care of Books. Speakers will include Elisabeth Leedham-Green, David Watkin, David McKitterick, Judith Waring, Richard Sharpe, and Peter Hoare.
The 1 December meeting deals with Clark's interests (the ADC Theatre, Greek play) and positions at the University. Speakers will include Harry Porter, Pat Easterling, Ken Joysey, and Clare Sargent.
Attendance at the meetings is free, however, please register in advance. Further details can be obtained from Dr Susie West (e-mail scw29@cam.ac.uk), and can be viewed on posters in Faculty and College libraries.
