At a meeting held on 8 October 2001 in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, Professor A. Howie, President, was in the Chair. Professor K. A. McLauchlan, FRS, delivered the Larmor Lecture, entitled The interaction of environmental radiation with matter. A vote of thanks was moved by Professor L. Hall.
Professor F. I. Woodward, of the University of Sheffield, will deliver a lecture entitled Vegetation and climate change, at 8.30 p.m. on Monday, 22 October, in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site.
